There are lots of different types of oil and gas fires including decorative fuel effect, radiant convectors, inset live fuel effect, unit heaters and flueless fires.
Decorative fuel effect fires look like a real fire and incorporate a burner and controls. Although they have the real fire look, they are relatively inefficient with most of the heat escaping up the flue.
Radiant convector fires use radiant bricks and are sealed into the fireplace to provide greater energy efficiency.
Inset live fuel effect fires also look like a real fire, but are inset into the fireplace and sealed to provide enhanced efficiency and lower heating costs.
Unit heaters are a room sealed, balanced flue convector heaters which must be fitted to an external wall.
Flueless fires are 100% energy efficient with no heat escaping up the flue and provide excellent heating at maximum efficiency.
Govan Gas, regulated by OFTEC and CORGI, install and service gas and oil fires throughout Devon and Cornwall.
